Making our PHP applications run smoother.

EllisLab is a company known most widely for it's award winning content management and publishing system ExpressionEngine. But we've gotten to know these guys a little bit over the years and it turns out they offer another great product: CodeIgniter. With virtually no exceptions, all of our PHP based solutions are based off of one of these two frameworks. What does that mean for our clients?

• We don't waste any time writing trivial code to do common things, such as formatting and heading emails, their products take care of this for us.
• We can hit the ground running on any new project, without getting caught up in application organization.
• Our team has an intimate working knowledge of these products, and it enables us to leverage them to the maximum advantage of our clients.

If we have already decided that we're going to use PHP as the main development language for a project, we do an assessment of the project goals and decide which of these two solutions is best.

CodeIgniter: web applications

• Advanced and custom e-commerce solutions.
• Social networks.
• Sites that have specific or complex requirements.

ExpressionEngine: content management and publishing

• Blogs, forums or similar user driven content systems
• Simple e-commerce stores.
• Sites that focus on the client's ability to update them.
